These subtle differences are part of what gives each cup its individual presence.
While the rounded silhouette and owl motif remain recognizable, every piece carries small nuances that make it feel personal and impossible to duplicate exactly.
Cultural Insight
The Fukuro Teacup is connected to a notable moment involving Their Imperial Highnesses Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko. During a visit to the Hikone Prince Hotel, this teacup was selected and later used during a break at the World Kite Museum in Yokaichi.
Princess Kiko is said to have especially appreciated the piece, and it was later delivered to the Imperial Household Agency.

Born in 1972, Kazuhiro Kojima is the son of Taro Kojima, founder of Nunobiki Kiln. Growing up surrounded by clay, fire, and his father's restless experimentation, the kiln was never a distant place. It was home.

After completing his studies at art college, he returned to Nunobiki and trained alongside his father, gradually developing a visual language distinctly his own.

His signature subject is the Fukuro Owl, rendered in Nanasai Tenmoku across a range of scales, from monumental ceramic statues to small, intimate accessories.
His pieces have been placed in hospitals, public institutions, and streetscapes, chosen for the sense of calm and quiet warmth they carry.
