Our Story
Tsukushi is a family-run business united by a shared passion for preserving the artistry of genuine Japanese craftsmanship.
Every piece we carry comes from makers we have met in person, artisans working in small studios across Japan, where these traditions have been kept alive for generations.

The Values
At the heart of Tsukushi is a simple belief: that the objects we live with every day deserve to be made with care.
We are drawn to things shaped by quiet hands and slow work, pieces that carry the mark of the person who made them, and that grow more meaningful with time.
We are also conscious of how things are made, favouring artisans who work with sustainable practices and who are rooted in their local communities.

The Mission
When we started looking for genuine handcrafted Japanese tableware and kitchenware online, we found very little. Everything seemed to look the same, produced at speed, designed for volume, with no story attached.
So we decided to do something about it: to build a place where the pace is set by the craft, not the market.
A curated selection of objects chosen because they moved us, made by artisans we have met in person, in small workshops across Japan.

The Craft
Every piece in our collection is made in small batches, by hand, with attention.
A wooden bowl might show a soft variation in the grain.
A ceramic cup might catch the light a little differently from the one next to it. These aren't imperfections; they're the evidence that a person made this.
That also means your order might take a little longer to arrive. Because good things, meaningful things, take time.

Giving Back to the Community
Behind every Tsukushi order are at least two stories: the artisan who spent years mastering their craft, and our family, who believed those skills deserved a wider audience.
When you shop with us, you honour both.
And you become part of a chain of care that runs from a small workshop in Japan to your table.
