The Hanami Pink Cherry Blossoms Plate is an oval ceramic piece defined by clarity of form and surface.

Crafted by artisan Kazuhiro Kojima, it is shaped by hand and finished with the Nanasai Tenmoku glazing technique, where layered minerals create the pink sakura canopy and intricate branching structure across a soft ground.

Subtle, intentional asymmetries in rim and glaze reflect a wabi-sabi sensibility and distinguish it from factory-made plates.

Naturally One of a Kind
Every Hanami Pink Sakura Plate is handmade by Kazuhiro Kojima, so each one carries slight variations in outline, glaze movement, and surface balance.
These differences are a natural part of the firing and finishing process, giving the plate a more personal and unrepeated character than anything factory-made.
Pink Nanasai Tenmoku Unique Glaze
Its most distinctive feature is the Nanasai Tenmoku (七彩天目) glaze, where soft pink tones unfold around a branching sakura tree.
The layered finish creates gentle shifts in color and depth, giving the surface the feeling of blossoms suspended in light.
This makes the plate feel decorative and expressive even before anything is served on it.
The Seasonal Spirit of Hanami

Born in 1940 in Miyagi Prefecture, Taro Kojima spent his formative years training across Kyoto and Shigaraki, absorbing two of Japan's most distinct ceramic traditions before establishing Nunobiki Kiln in Higashiomi City, Shiga Prefecture.

Nestled near the shores of Lake Biwa, the kiln is a family endeavor where monozukuri is not a philosophy but a daily rhythm. Working with Shigaraki clay, prized for its coarse grain and its deep affinity with fire, Kojima-san approaches each piece as a singular event.

His signature Nanasai Tenmoku glaze is applied entirely by hand. Through firing, it transforms into deep transparency and varied color, capable of rendering natural imagery directly onto the clay, making every piece genuinely unrepeatable.
