Made to Order Items
A Mindful Path to Owning the Rare
At Tsukushi, we don’t stock shelves.
We work with Japanese artisans who create in small batches or start crafting only once you place your order.
This is not mass production. It’s something more meaningful: a slower process that results in a piece made with care, purpose, and intention.
What to Expect
After you place your order there are two possible scenarios:
- Ready to Ship:
As soon as we receive your order, we’ll check with the artisan. There’s a chance your piece has already been made, carefully crafted in a small batch, waiting for the right person to find it.
If that’s the case, we’ll prepare it for shipping right away, and you’ll receive it in about 3 weeks, including delivery time. - Made to Order:
If it hasn’t been made yet, your order marks the beginning of the process. The artisan starts from scratch, and your piece will be ready in about 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the item and the crafting method.
See the delivery timeline below and our shipping policy here.
Status | Estimated Delivery Time |
---|---|
Ready and available | 3 weeks |
Made to order (from start) | 5–12 weeks (depending on the item) |

Why We Do It This Way
True quality takes time, and we believe that’s something worth preserving.
Each piece is carefully crafted by a Japanese artisan, not pulled from a shelf. It's made specifically for you, ensuring that no other piece in the world will be exactly the same.
In a world of fast shipping and faster production, we’ve grown used to getting things instantly. But speed often comes at the cost of depth, character, and craftsmanship.
We value a slower, more intentional approach, and we believe you will too.
Because when you wait for something meaningful, it becomes more than just a product.
It becomes yours, in every sense.
Please Note Before Ordering
Because each made-to-order piece is created just for you, production begins immediately after your order is placed.
For this reason, we are unable to accept cancellations once the order has been confirmed.
This helps us honor the artisan’s time, materials, and commitment and ensures your piece is made with full attention from the start.

The Spirit of Tsukushi
We believe in fewer things, made better. In calm over urgency, in pieces that feel like they belong in your life, not just your home.
This is why we work the way we do, and we hope you’ll feel the difference.
The Artisan’s Voice

Taichi Kawaii - Usurai Pottery
"The greatest joy comes when I create something with my hands, give it to someone, and see that they truly appreciate it. That moment means everything to me".

Kazuhiro Kojima - Nunobiki Pottery
"I don’t just shape wood — I try to share the calm and balance of nature, so you can feel it in your hands and in your life".
