The Haruhana Guinomi Sake Cup Set brings fine ceramic artistry to the quiet ritual of shared sake.

Handcrafted by master potter Kazuhiro Kojima, each cup is finished with the Nanasai Tenmoku glazing technique, creating layered depth, soft contrast, and gentle highlights that shift in the light.

One guinomi is adorned with sakura flowers on green, the other with sakura flowers on pink, giving the set a graceful seasonal balance.

The softly rounded form, subtle rim variation, and expressive glaze surface reflect a quiet wabi sabi sensibility, making every piece feel individual and clearly apart from mass-produced ware.

Ideal for sake, fine spirits, or other liquors, Haruhana brings a quiet touch of spring to everyday moments.

A Gift with Quiet Presence

A Guinomi Set Chosen to Leave an Impression

Some gifts are appreciated in the moment. Others are remembered. Haruhana belongs to the second kind.

Handcrafted in Japan by Kazuhiro Kojima, this pair of guinomi carries the quiet distinction of true artistry, where every curve, glaze movement, and tonal shift reflects the touch of the maker.

Its sakura decoration in soft green and pink gives the set a refined seasonal elegance, while the natural variation of each cup makes it feel personal rather than repeated.

As a gift, Haruhana offers more than beauty alone. It conveys taste, intention, and a sense of quiet luxury that feels deeply considered from the first glance.

From Nunobiki’s Family Kiln

Where It’s Made

Haruhana is handcrafted by Kazuhiro Kojima, the ceramic artist behind Nunobiki Pottery, a family-run kiln in Japan known for its refined workmanship and deeply hands-on approach to making.

Each set reflects the values of slow production, careful finishing, and a lasting respect for traditional craft.

Kojima-san’s work is guided by a true monozukuri spirit, where skill and dedication shape each piece by hand from start to finish.
Made in small quantities, every guinomi develops its own slight variations in form, glaze movement, and expression.

In Haruhana, this careful process is felt in the balance of the cups, the richness of the surface, and the soft seasonal beauty of the sakura motif, giving the set a presence beyond ordinary tableware.

Cultural Note

The Guinomi, A Traditional Japanese Sake Cup

Haruhana is a pair of guinomi (ぐい呑み), traditional Japanese sake cups shaped for a more relaxed and tactile way of drinking.

The name combines the Japanese words of ぐい (gui) , suggesting a satisfying sip, with 呑み, from nomu, “to drink.”
That sense of ease is part of what Haruhana expresses so beautifully. Its rounded form sits comfortably in the hand, while the handcrafted surface and sakura decoration bring warmth, nuance, and quiet individuality.

More generous than sakazuki or ochoko, Haruhana guinomi offer a more personal, grounded drinking experience.

Making of Japanese pottery (landscape). Tsukushi

Haruhana is handcrafted in Japan in small batches, with close attention to material, glaze, and finish.

Each guinomi reflects a slower, more thoughtful way of making, where quality, skilled handwork, and responsible craftsmanship remain central from shaping to firing.

Featured Focus

Haruhana, The Beauty of Spring in Bloom

春花 (Haruhana), Blossoms of Spring

In Japanese, Haruhana is written as 春花, combining the Japanese characters of 春 (haru), meaning “spring,” and 花 (hana), meaning “flower” or “blossom.
Together, the name evokes the season when flowers come into bloom, carrying a sense of freshness, softness, and quiet renewal.

For this guinomi set, the name naturally connects to the symbolism of sakura, the cherry blossom long associated in Japan with spring, beauty, and the fleeting nature of precious moments.

It also recalls the spirit of hanami, the tradition of gathering to admire cherry blossoms at their peak, aware that their beauty will not last for long.

More than a name, Haruhana expresses the atmosphere the set is meant to bring to the table.
