Each piece is made from local clay and designed not to dominate, but to anchor the composition with presence and poise
While striking together, the bowl and frog can also be used individually; one as a sculptural incense holder or floral support, the other as a minimalist piece of decor
Whether supporting a single stem or standing alone, Hanamori invites stillness into any setting.

You Know the Difference

That’s Why You Deserve This

Ultimately it's your choice.
You could choose something ordinary: a mass-produced flower vase, generic and forgettable. Or you could choose Hanamori, a handcrafted Ikebana vase made in small batches, shaped with care, and created to bring presence, not noise, into your space.

Each piece reflects the quiet spirit of wabi-sabi pottery, shaped with patience and intention, embracing imperfection and the beauty of slow creation.
Because the things you surround yourself with matter, and when you choose Hanamori, you're not just decorating, you’re expressing what you value most: authenticity, calm, and beauty that lasts.

Two Japanese ceramic items, one flower black bowl and one flower frog, on a neutral background.

Stillness Has Shape

Let Your Home Breathe

In a world of constant noise and urgency, Hanamori offers something rare: a moment to pause. Shaped slowly, by hand, this ceramic flower frog and pottery bowl carry the rhythm of the artisan who made them, unhurried, deliberate, grounded.
That presence lives on in your home. Whether placed on a shelf or used for a quiet floral arrangement, Hanamori isn’t just decor. It’s a gentle invitation to breathe, to return to yourself, and to create space for what truly matters.

Balance in Form

The Piece Your Space Was Missing, Hanamori

A sculptural Ikebana vase that brings calm and focus to any surface. Handcrafted to add quiet beauty to modern or organic interiors.

Where it's Made

Born from Clay and Time

In the hills of Kusatsu, where unglazed pottery has been shaped since the 7th century, Hanamori is brought to life by Ohmi Ceramics. At the heart of this studio are Yoshinori Yamamoto and his son Kazuma; two generations of artisans dedicated to preserving Kusatsu-yaki, a distinct style of Japanese pottery tied to the land and its clay. Their work is not rushed.

Each flower frog and bowl is shaped in small batches, fired using traditional methods, and guided by years of quiet discipline. The result is more than an object, it’s a reflection of place, patience, and the unspoken dialogue between hands and earth.
Bringing Hanamori into your home means inviting that calm into your space, carrying with it the rhythm of those who made it.

Cultural Notes

The Meaning Behind an Ikebana Vase

In Japanese culture, arranging flowers is not just display but a practice of presence known as Ikebana (生け花), which means to "give life to flowers" and follows a philosophy where space, balance, and intention matter as much as the blooms themselves.
At the center of traditional Ikebana is the kenzan (剣山), a spiked metal base that anchors each stem upright in water, holding them in perfect tension and alignment.

Hanamori reimagines this tradition with a gentler form.
Its ceramic flower frog replaces the spikes with a sculptural, spherical design, each hole precisely carved to support a stem with quiet restraint. Paired with its matching pottery bowl, it becomes a complete Ikebana vase set: one element to hold the flowers, the other to carry water and ground the arrangement.

More than an object, it’s a new way to bring the calm of Japanese decor into modern interiors, one that honors tradition, yet speaks in its own voice.

Featured Focus

Hanamori: More Than a Word

The name Hanamori (花守) combines two kanji: 花 (hana) meaning "flower", and 守 (mori), meaning "to protect" or "to guard". Together, they evoke more than just care, they suggest a quiet presence that holds beauty without control, that respects the delicate balance of nature rather than imposing upon it.
This philosophy lives within the object itself.

Hanamori is not a centerpiece that dominates, but a form that supports. The flower frog, carved with patient precision, holds each stem in place, while the black decorative bowl beneath it serves as a vessel of balance, empty, yet full of possibility.
Shaped in clay and rooted in intention, the Hanamori Ikebana Vase becomes part of your interior language. Whether your space leans toward Japandi, traditional Japanese decor, or a minimalist Western aesthetic, it brings a still point to the flow of the room. A pause made visible.
